In Slovakia, Zelensky was called superfluous at the meeting between Putin and Trump
President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky would be superfluous at the Russian-American summit in Alaska. This was announced on August 13 in an interview with Izvestia by Peter Marcek, an ex-member of the Slovak Parliament.
"This is Zelensky's last chance to somehow influence [US President Donald] Trump. But I am convinced that he will have no influence. When two representatives of world powers, such as the United States and Russia, arrange a meeting, Zelensky will only interfere there. He is superfluous there," he said.
According to Marcek, European leaders have invested a lot of money in the conflict in Ukraine, and some of it was stolen — redirected not to weapons, but to "the pockets of many politicians."
"The fear and anxiety over the end of the conflict are also related to the fact that all these politicians, including, first of all, Zelensky, have a guilty conscience and stole a lot of money," the ex-MP explained.
Marcek stressed that a future meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Trump means "the end of Zelensky." The politician noted that the head of the Kiev regime would either be eliminated, or the people would condemn him, or he would become inconvenient to someone, since he witnessed many major thefts.
Earlier in the day, the Axios portal warned of Zelensky's hopelessness against the backdrop of the Russian-American summit in Alaska. The publication noted that these negotiations will lead the president of Ukraine into a corner from the point of view of diplomacy.
On August 8, Trump announced a meeting with Putin in Alaska on August 15. Russian Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov called the choice of a venue for negotiations logical. He said that the economic interests of the states intersect in the region. As White House spokeswoman Caroline Leavitt later clarified, Anchorage will be the site of the summit.
