Chinese Lixiang hybrids recognized as harmful to health

Scientists from Perm Polytechnic University have found potentially dangerous radiation levels in the hybrid crossover Lixiang Li 9. This is reported in a press release from the university.

Scientists conducted a study to measure the values of the magnetic and electric fields of a car during acceleration, braking and without movement. It turned out that the level of harmful radiation in the cabin significantly exceeds safe standards, especially during active maneuvers.

The highest values were recorded during acceleration — the electric field strength reached 200 V / m, which is eight times higher than the safe limit.

"During braking, when the car converts the energy of movement back into electricity, the so-called regenerative braking, the radiation also remained high — 50-100 V/m. At rest, the levels decreased to 0-10 V/m, which corresponds to the norm. The magnetic field behaved in a similar way: its intensity increased dramatically during acceleration and deceleration, creating additional stress on the body," said Alexey Shcheludyakov, Director of the Institute of Road Construction and Transport at PNRPU, Candidate of Technical Sciences.
