On Wednesday, August 13, Roskomnadzor announced the partial blocking of calls to Telegram and WhatsApp (part of Meta, the organization is recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation). As explained in the press service of the regulator, such measures were taken to protect users from fraud and involvement in illegal activities. How to make a call in the messenger MAX (Max) from your phone

The MAX messenger supports calls in both audio and video formats. It also uses NoLACE technology, which enhances the sound quality using artificial intelligence. Thanks to it, distortion and background noise are automatically suppressed during a call. In addition, NoLACE allows you to restore words when the connection is disconnected for up to 1 second without compromising the natural sound.

You can only call MAX from your phone to your contacts. Calls are supported on all Android (including Harmony OS) and iOS devices.

How to call MAX from your phone

1. Open the app and go to the "Calls" section;
2. Select the "Call a contact" button;
3. In the list that opens, find the desired user. If you don't have one, you can add a number from the contact list on your phone (provided that the person has the MAX app installed);
4. Tap on the handset icon to start an audio call or on the camera icon to start a video call.

1. Go to the "Contacts" section and find the desired user;

You can also make calls in the MAX version for PC and browser. To do this, follow a few simple steps.:

1. Launch the Windows/macOS application or its web version;
2. Open a chat with a user, find the handset or camera icons on the top panel and click on them.

Before making a call, you must allow the app access to the camera and microphone, otherwise you will not be able to establish a connection.

What other functions are available in the MAX messenger?

In addition to calls to MAX, there are other functions for communication. Users can:

• exchange messages in personal and group chats;
• Share photos, videos, voice messages, and documents up to 4GB in size;
• use chatbots;
• use the Sbera GigaChat neural network.

In future updates, it is planned to integrate the messenger with Public Services. This will allow you to pay fees and fines, make an appointment with a doctor, sign electronic documents, and much more.
