A criminal case has been opened in the Trans-Baikal Territory over the death of a 55-year-old underground mining foreman in a mine. This is reported by the regional SU of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
The tragedy occurred on the night of Wednesday, August 13, on the territory of PJSC Priargunsky Mining and Chemical Association in the city of Krasnokamensk. According to the investigation, the 55-year-old mining master suffered various injuries as a result of the derailment of an electric locomotive. The man died on the spot.
The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case on this fact under Part 2 of Article 217 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, resulting in the death of a person by negligence."
According to ChitaMedia news agency, investigators are interrogating the company's employees and have already demanded documentation that can help in the investigation. All the circumstances of the incident at the mine are being investigated.
On August 9, a rock roof collapsed at the Sherlovskaya-Oblique mine in the Rostov Region, killing one person. The Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under the same article on violation of industrial safety requirements for hazardous production facilities, which negligently resulted in the death of a person.
