The cost of rebuilding the Gaza Strip will exceed $53 billion. This was stated on August 13 by the Minister of Economy of the Palestinian National Authority (PA) Mohammed al-Amour in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"The new estimates for the reconstruction of [Gaza] exceed $53 billion, the countries of the world must contribute to the reconstruction, their participation will be discussed at the Cairo Conference," he said.

The minister added that the economic issue is related to financial needs in various areas, as well as the need to develop a recovery plan that will include several stages.
