The SKA hockey Club from St. Petersburg has announced the signing of a contract with 32-year-old American striker Rocco Grimaldi. This was announced on August 13 by the team's press service.
"We signed a two-year contract with the striker. We look forward to seeing you in the city on the Neva River!" — stated in the SKA Telegram channel.
Last season, Grimaldi, playing for the Cleveland Monsters in the American Hockey League (AHL), played 66 games in the regular season and scored 58 points (17 goals and 41 assists). The striker also played in the National Hockey League (NHL) for the Florida Panthers, Colorado Avalanche and Nashville Predators.
At the 2023 World Cup, Grimaldi became the tournament's top scorer, scoring 14 points in 10 matches. His national team eventually took the fourth place at the world championship.
Russian athlete Sergey Tolchinsky and the SKA hockey club terminated their contract on July 7 by agreement of each of the parties. It is specified that the hockey player spent two seasons with the club. Tolchinsky participated in 129 games and scored 74 (28+46) points.
