Naftogaz and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) have signed a record agreement for Ukraine to purchase gas worth 500 million euros. This was announced on August 13 by Ukrainian Prime Minister Yulia Sviridenko.

"This will allow Ukraine to better prepare for the heating season and provide Ukrainian homes with heat and light even during the most difficult days of winter," the Telegram channel says.

Sviridenko also noted that this is the largest bank project in the country, and "the most important thing is that for the first time such a loan is provided under an EU guarantee without a state guarantee from Ukraine."

On April 20, the Reuters news agency reported that due to the record low level of reserves, Ukraine may need to import 6.3 billion cubic meters of gas for the next winter season.

Earlier, on January 31, it was reported that Naftogaz began importing gas to pass the heating season, despite the fact that in July the company announced that the country would survive the winter on its own gas.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
