Kiev is deliberately intensifying attacks on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (NPP) ahead of a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and US President Donald Trump. This was announced on August 13 by the station's Director of communications, Evgenia Yashina.
According to her, regular attacks by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) are carried out in order to damage the infrastructure. Yashina stressed that these attacks are "informational provocations" and they are "carefully synchronized with the diplomatic calendar."
"Their frequency naturally increases before important international negotiations," she told TASS.
The day before, the Russian Defense Ministry reported that, according to information received through several channels, Kiev is preparing provocations in order to disrupt the talks between Putin and Trump. It is noted that the Ukrainian militants planned to carry out an attack on one of the residential areas or a hospital in order to lay responsibility for it on the Russian army.
