The territorial structure of the Russian Federation is enshrined in the Constitution of the country. Alexey Fadeev, Deputy Director of the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, recalled this at a briefing on Wednesday, August 13.

"The territorial structure of the Russian Federation is enshrined in the Constitution of our country. That says it all," Fadeev said, commenting on a possible discussion of a "land swap" at a meeting between the presidents of Russia and the United States, Vladimir Putin and Donald Trump.

According to the deputy director of the department, the goals of the Russian delegation at the Alaska talks will be determined solely by the national interests of the Russian Federation.
