In Buryatia, a mother killed a baby for crying, stabbing it with syringes with a powerful drug. This was reported on August 13 in the press service of the investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region.

"She's been charged <...> in the commission of a crime under paragraphs "d", "c", Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder of a minor, obviously for the guilty being in a helpless state, committed with extreme cruelty")," the agency's website says.

It is specified that on the night of October 9, 2024, a woman got angry at her crying two-month-old son and punched him in the face. Next, the malefactor injected syringes with a powerful drug into the child's head, as a result of which the boy died. Later, the woman tried to escape, but she was detained at a friend's apartment. She is currently in custody.

During the interrogations, the accused stated that she caused the death of the child allegedly due to postpartum depression and in a state of passion. However, the results of the forensic examination showed that the woman was aware of her actions at the time of the crime.

Earlier, on August 5, in the Altai Territory, in the village of Berezovka, the body of an eight-month-old child with signs of violent death was found. It was clarified that a local resident in a state of intoxication reported the disappearance of her daughter. Then, during the inspection of the household and the surrounding area, the body of a child was found. According to preliminary information, the girl's death occurred from an open traumatic brain injury.
