- The political scientist announced the strengthening of power in Iran thanks to Netanyahu's call for an uprising
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's video message to the Iranian people calling for an uprising against the authorities of the Islamic Republic can not only strengthen the regime in Tehran, but also strengthen national identity. This was stated on August 13 by political analyst Dmitry Brije to Izvestia.
Earlier, The Jerusalem Post reported that Netanyahu recorded a video message to the Iranian people in which he called on Iranians to rise up against the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran and promised them assistance from the Israeli side in the field of water supply.
"For the Iranian leadership, such statements are not just political rhetoric, but a tool that can be used to mobilize internal support for the regime, presenting the situation as an external threat to national sovereignty. Thus, all of Israel's actions only strengthen the political regime in Iran, help it and strengthen its national identity and, of course, resistance against Israel," the expert said.
According to the orientalist, in response to Israel's actions, the Iranian authorities may take a tougher stance by increasing the information campaign against the Israeli leadership. This may include strengthening control over the media space and blocking content that would undermine the reputation of the Iranian leadership.
"Israel considers Iran as its opponent, as a threat to Israel's national security. <...>. We see that in response, the Iranian authorities are likely to take a tough stance, intensifying an information campaign aimed at discrediting the source of the appeal, that is, the Israeli leadership, and strengthening the image of Israel as a hostile state seeking to to destabilize the political and economic situation in Iran," he stressed.
On July 15, Iranian Ambassador to Russia Kazem Jalali told Izvestia that the Islamic Republic is ready to respond in case of new aggression from Israel. He noted that a repeat of the situation would put Tehran in a situation in which it "would not show patience for aggression."
