The court decided to recover 49.5 billion rubles from the owner of the Volgoneft-212 tanker.

The court fully satisfied the claim of Rosprirodnadzor against the owner and charterer of the wrecked tanker Volgoneft-212 and decided to recover 49.5 billion rubles. This was reported on August 13 by a correspondent of Izvestia.

The defendants in the case are Kamatransoil and Kama Shipping companies, the plaintiffs are Rosprirodnadzor, the Prosecutor General's Office, the Ministry of Transport and other departments.

Representatives of the plaintiffs during the meeting stated that the Kama Shipping company, acting as the charterer of the vessel, was to blame for the incident, since the storm was not an irresistible force, because the ship left at the wrong time.

The court agreed with the arguments and fully satisfied the claim.
