Poland expressed concerns about the possible capitulation of Kiev.
The defeat for Warsaw will be the signing by Ukraine of the act of surrender. This was announced on August 13 by Polish Deputy Defense Minister Cesary Tomczyk.
"If Ukraine is forced to capitulate, it will be a defeat for the Republic of Poland and President [Karol Nawrocki]," he said on the Polsat TV channel.
According to Tomczyk, if the Polish president does not use his ties with the United States to prevent Kiev from signing the act of surrender, this will become a big problem for the republic for many years to come.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova noted on August 13 that the reaction to the upcoming summit of Russia and the United States in Alaska is a litmus test, which is divided into two groups: those who want a settlement in Ukraine and those who "hiss and squirm." She noted that in the second category, governments are looking for any "loopholes" to "divert the conversation in another direction."
On August 9, French President Emmanuel Macron stressed the need for European countries to take an active part in resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
