In India, in the state of Karnataka, a tourist was trampled by an elephant after he attempted to take a selfie. This was reported on August 13 by the Daily Mail newspaper.
It is specified that the man noticed an elephant on the side of the road, which at that moment was eating carrots. The tourist decided to get close to the animal to take a photo as a souvenir. However, due to a sudden flash on the phone, the elephant attacked the man. Next, the man tried to escape from the animal, but at the moment when he fell, the mammal trampled him several times.
"The man miraculously survived, but was taken to the hospital with serious injuries," the material says.
According to the newspaper, the tourist was also fined 25 thousand rupees (about 23 thousand rubles).
Earlier, on August 9, a lion escaped from a private zoo near Prague and attacked the keeper. It was clarified that the man suffered minor injuries. Then, at the scene, the police used their service weapon to neutralize the wild animal.
