Russian creditor to file for bankruptcy of Volkswagen carmaker

The Kameya Joint-Stock company plans to file an application to the Moscow Arbitration Court for declaring the German carmaker Volkswagen bankrupt. This was announced on Wednesday, August 13, on the website of the unified Federal Register.

"Kameya Joint Stock Company intends to apply to the Arbitration Court of Moscow with a statement declaring Volkswagen Akziengesellschaft insolvent (bankrupt)," the statement said.

According to the information, Volkswagen's debt to Kamya includes 16.9 billion rubles in losses, of which 6.67 billion is real damage, 10.24 billion is lost profits, as well as 40 thousand euros of debt and court costs in the amount of 119 thousand rubles.

The debt was confirmed by the decision of the Arbitration Court of the Nizhny Novgorod region, but has not yet been repaid. Kameya intends to file a lawsuit in connection with the non-payment of the debt and claims that Volkswagen management violates the terms of the contract.
