Ufa club of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) Salavat Yulaev terminated the contract with 32-year-old Canadian striker Joshua Livo by mutual consent of the parties. This was announced on August 13 by the press service of the hockey club.

Salavat Yulaev and Joshua Livo have terminated their contract by mutual agreement," the club's Telegram channel said.

The team also thanked the player for playing and wished him good luck in his future career.

Livo has been playing for the club since 2023. He was named the most valuable player of the KHL championship in the 2024/25 season. He scored 80 (49+31) points in 62 matches, becoming the top scorer and sniper of the regular season, and also broke Sergey Mozyakin's record for the number of goals in one regular season, Sport-Express clarifies. In 14 playoff games last season, Livo scored 15 (2+13) points.

Ivan Botev, Livo's agent, confirmed on August 11 that the management of the Salavat Yulaev hockey club had terminated the player's contract, citing the fact that he had not arrived at the team's location on time. According to Botev, Salavat Yulaev knew that Livo had not yet received a visa, so he could not arrive earlier. The agent also noted that they had an agreement with the club, so the decision to terminate the contract came as a surprise.
