The ash cloud from the eruption of Klyuchevsky volcano has reached Alaska. This was reported on August 13 by the Alaska Public Media portal.

"Volcanic ash from the Russian Kamchatka peninsula has led to the cancellation of Alaska Airlines flights to Nome and Kotzebue (cities in Alaska — Ed.)," the report says.

According to the warning issued on Tuesday morning, the dust cloud is expected to remain in the region for at least 18 hours.

Earlier in the day, Klyuchevskaya volcano in Kamchatka spewed ash to a height of 12 km. It is specified that the aviation hazard code in the region has been raised to "red", and five districts are located on the route of the ash: Ust-Kamchatsky, Milkovsky, Yelizovsky, Vilyuchinsky and Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where precipitation is not excluded.
