Unknown persons set fire to a synagogue in Obninsk, Kaluga region, using molotov cocktails. This was announced on August 13 in the press service of the Chief Rabbi of Russia Berl Lazar.
"On the night of August 12-13, 2025, unknown persons tried to set fire to a synagogue in the city of Obninsk, Kaluga Region," the message says.
It is specified that at least three molotov cocktails were thrown into the building, as a result, the entrance to the synagogue was damaged.
The day before, two teenagers were detained for setting fire to a diesel locomotive in Orel for a monetary reward. It was noted that on the territory of the railway enterprise, the defendants threw an incendiary mixture into the locomotive, resulting in a fire.
