Starting from September 1, 2025, an updated procedure for calculating average wages will begin to operate in Russia, which will now include not only bonuses, but also monetary incentives for employees. This was announced on August 13 by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs.

The deputy clarified that with the introduction of the new procedure, the calculation of average earnings for severance payments will be carried out according to a new principle: the average daily earnings are multiplied by the average number of working days per month. For employees with cumulative working hours, the calculation will be carried out differently: the average hourly earnings are multiplied by the average number of working hours per month.

"In all other cases, the calculation rules remain the same. So, to pay for vacations provided in calendar days and to pay compensation for unused vacations, the average salary is calculated by dividing the amount of salary actually accrued over the billing period by 12 and by the average monthly number of calendar days of 29.3," Nilov explained in an interview with TASS.

Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, supported the idea of increasing maternity payments in Russia the day before. The parliamentarian noted that the more children a family has, the more social guarantees there should be.
