The Israeli Government is considering sending a high-level delegation to Doha for talks with Qatari officials on a possible resumption of dialogue on a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip. This was reported on August 13 by Axios portal journalist Barak Ravid.

"Israel is considering sending a high—level delegation to Doha later this week to meet with senior Qatari officials as part of efforts to resume negotiations on a hostage agreement and a cease-fire in Gaza," he wrote on his social media page.

It is noted that if the Israeli delegation arrives in Qatar, the negotiations will focus on efforts to develop a comprehensive agreement that will end the war in Gaza and ensure the release of all hostages from the captivity of the Hamas movement.

Earlier in the day, a Hamas delegation arrived at a meeting in Cairo to discuss the cease-fire in Gaza. Currently, as noted, representatives of Hamas, who responded to Egypt's "generous invitation" with their visit, have already begun holding preliminary discussions on the eve of the negotiations themselves.
