In the Kalmansky district Court of the Altai Territory, the prosecutor's office demanded 25 years in prison for the maniac Vitaly Manishin, who is accused of murdering 11 women. This was announced on August 13 by the press service of the department.

"During the debate, the state prosecutors expressed the opinion that he deserves the most severe punishment and suggested that the court impose the maximum possible punishment for him in the form of 25 years in prison with serving the first seven years in prison, and the remaining term in a high—security penal colony," the press service stressed on the Telegram channel.

It is clarified that due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, he cannot be sentenced to life imprisonment. The final decision will be made by the court after all participants in the hearing have spoken in the debate.

Earlier, on August 12, the court extended Manishin's arrest. The man is accused of committing crimes under paragraph "e" of Article 102 of the Criminal Code of the RSFSR ("Premeditated murder under aggravating circumstances in order to conceal or facilitate another crime") and paragraphs "a, k" of part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code ("Murder of two or more persons in order to conceal or facilitate another crime committing, as well as involving rape or violent acts of a sexual nature").

On May 21, they announced the transfer of the case of the maniac Vitaly Manishin to the Kalmansky District Court of the Altai Territory.

According to investigators, in 1989, Manishin tried to rape a 17-year-old girl, then strangled her and buried her. He was also found to be involved in ten more murders committed in 1999 and 2000. All the girls were applicants from regional universities.

Then the detainee said that he had visited institutes in the past and got to know each other. According to the maniac, he guaranteed the girls that he would ensure their admission to an educational institution. He lured each of them into his car, after which they drove out of the city, where he raped and killed them.
