Kim Jong-un told Putin that North Korea will always support Russia

During a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, North Korean leader Kim Jong-un confirmed that Pyongyang will always fully support Moscow's actions. This was reported on August 13 by the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

"Comrade Kim Jong-un <... I once again assured that the DPRK will always remain faithful to the spirit of the agreement between the DPRK and the Russian Federation," the statement said.

The Korean leader also expressed confidence that the country will continue to support Russia's policy in the future.

The two leaders exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and agreed to continue close contacts. The conversation took place in a "warm and friendly atmosphere," the agency added.

On August 12, the Kremlin's press service reported that Putin and Kim Jong-un had confirmed their commitment to further developing friendly relations and cooperation between the two countries during a telephone conversation. In addition, during the conversation, Putin congratulated the Korean leader on the upcoming 80th anniversary of the liberation of Korea from Japanese colonial rule.
