It is specified that the incident occurred in the Leninsky administrative district of Omsk on the tracks adjacent to the Omsk-Passazhirsky station during shunting operations. Earlier, on August 1, a freight train derailed in the Chelyabinsk region, there were no casualties in the incident. It was noted that the incident was being investigated under Part 1 of Article 263 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Violation of the rules of safety and operation of railway transport, resulting in major damage").
