The statement by the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, about his intention to allow men under the age of 22 to leave the country is pure populism, he will never adopt such a law. Roman Kovalenko, Chairman of the Executive Committee of the Other Ukraine International movement, told Izvestia on August 12.

Currently, Ukraine has restrictions on men between the ages of 18 and 60 leaving the country due to general mobilization. Zelensky said at a press conference on August 12 that the lower age threshold would be 22 years old.

"Everything Zelensky is doing now is aimed solely at one thing — to earn points from the world community, from [US President Donald] Trump, Ukrainians, because his rating is finally falling. Everything is now aimed solely at populism," Kovalenko said.

According to the source, the head of the Kiev regime will definitely not keep this promise.

"I firmly believe that nothing like this will happen. Zelensky has failures at the front, there are sorely not enough people. <...> To adopt such a law is to condemn oneself to death even faster," Kovalenko summed up.

On August 4, the Financial Times newspaper stated that resistance to forced mobilization is growing in Ukraine and attacks on employees of the shopping mall (an analogue of the military enlistment office in Ukraine) are becoming more frequent. It was noted that against this background, Kiev is trying to encourage voluntary service, and the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) complain about the depletion of units and the shortage of personnel.

In Vinnytsia, on August 1, relatives of the mobilized went to a rally at one of the shopping malls, where the conscripts were sent to the stadium. There was a conflict between the protesters, employees of the shopping mall and representatives of social support (SP), during which police officers, according to one of the local residents, used gas cylinders.

Later, the Vinnytsia Shopping Center explained the gathering of the military at the stadium by the need for a medical examination. Criminal cases have been opened against the protesters.
