In Buryatia, a man was ordered to pay a fine of 670 thousand rubles for a forest fire. The gorenje area was 23 hectares.

According to the UlanMedia news agency, the man performed a birth ceremony and left smoldering incense. At that time, a special fire protection regime was in effect in the region. The fire from the incense on the dry grass spread over a large area and moved to the territory of the forest fund.

35 people and eight pieces of equipment participated in extinguishing the fire.

The forestry agency clarified that 242 forest fires were registered in Buryatia in 2025, caused by careless handling of fire.

In the Stavropol Territory on August 12, a wildfire engulfed 50 hectares of dry vegetation on the lands of the forest fund. 20 people are involved in extinguishing the fire.
