Alexander Seryakov, head of the cancer center "SM-Clinic", oncologist, spoke about the harmless symptoms of cancer of the oral mucosa.

In a conversation with Lenta. On Tuesday, August 12, he noted that a malignant tumor can occur in any area of the oral cavity, and as it progresses, it often affects nearby tissues, muscles and bones.

The doctor said that early signs of cancer of the oral mucosa can be long-lasting ulcers, persistent bad breath, unusual bleeding from the mouth or nose, as well as prolonged hoarseness of the voice.

He noted that in the early stages, the tumor often resembles inflammatory diseases such as gingivitis, stomatitis or glossitis, as well as precancerous conditions such as leukoplakia or erythroplakia, manifested by white or red spots on the mucous membrane, or injuries to the oral cavity.

According to Seryakov, cancer can almost always be cured in the early stages, unlike in the late stages, and the prognosis largely depends on the histological type of the tumor, since its growth rate can vary greatly.

Nutritionist and nutritionist Dmitry Semiryadov on August 11 in an interview with the website kp.ru He said that some products help protect cells from damage and reduce the risk of developing cancer. According to him, carrots rich in beta-carotene, which helps reduce the risk of stomach and prostate cancer, should be added to the diet. Foods with a high fiber content, such as beans, as well as berries such as blueberries, raspberries and currants, containing anthocyanins with a strong antioxidant effect, will also be useful. 360.ru .
