The situation with meningococcus in Russia remains stable. Vladimir Chulanov, chief freelance specialist of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation for infectious Diseases, told reporters on August 12.

"Despite the registration of outbreaks of meningococcal infection, the epidemic situation for this disease in the Russian Federation remains stable, the observed incidence rates are below the long—term average," TASS quoted him as saying.
