The 2025 Chengdu World Games in China are organized at a high level. This was announced to Izvestia on August 12 by silver medalist Alexei Molchanov.
"The reception at the airport, the athletes' village, the swimming pool — everything was beautifully and coolly organized," he said.
The athlete won a silver medal in the discipline of "monolast apnea" — diving in one breath. According to him, he started preparing for the competition in November 2024.
He also said that the World Games also include extreme disciplines that have the potential to be included in the Olympic Games list.
"Freediving can enter the next or maybe through one [Olympic Games], work in this direction is underway. I hope that it will be included in the next 5-10 years," Molchanov added.
On August 11, Russian Diana Sliseva won the World Games in Chengdu in 100 m scuba diving in classic fins. For the athlete, this is the second gold medal at the tournament. On Sunday, August 10, she won the 50m backstroke with apnea.
