HC Dynamo striker Komtois talks about the joy of playing hockey in Russia
Maxim Komtois, a forward of the Dynamo Moscow hockey club, said that he had rediscovered the joy of playing hockey in Russia. He stated this on August 12 in an interview with RDS.
"I really enjoyed this experience, it was really great. I rediscovered the joy of playing hockey in Russia," he said.
The Canadian hockey player also noted that he considers Moscow to be a wonderful city. According to him, after moving with his wife, he was able to quickly adapt to life in Russia.
As the newspaper notes, in his first season in Russia, Comtois scored 50 points in 62 regular season matches and 13 points in 15 playoff games. He also extended his contract with Dynamo for the 2025/26 season.
"I signed a one-year contract in Russia to evaluate my options after the season. In the end, it was very difficult for me to leave Moscow. I think the club has offered me the best position for next season. I really enjoyed it there. <...> I'm in a team that wants to see me on the team and makes me feel like I belong," concluded Comtois.
HC Dynamo announced on August 1 that striker Nikita Gusev had signed a trial contract with the club. The agreement is valid until August 21.
