A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The Zapad group of troops took up more advantageous positions and defeated the formations of the Ukrainian army in the areas of settlements of the Kharkiv region and the DPR. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 215 militants, a tank, two British-made Snatch armored fighting vehicles, 13 vehicles, three artillery pieces, including two manufactured by NATO countries, as well as six electronic warfare stations and two ammunition depots.

"The units of the Center group of forces have improved their position along the front line. They defeated formations of two mechanized, infantry, assault, amphibious assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade, a defense brigade and two National Guard brigades in the areas of Krasny Liman, Dimitrov, Muravka, Dachnoye, Suvorovo, Rodinskoye, Udachnoye, Krasnoarmeysk of the Donetsk People's Republic and Filia of the Dnipropetrovsk region. The losses of the Ukrainian armed forces amounted to over 365 military personnel, six vehicles, four field artillery guns and two electronic warfare stations," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated an enterprise of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine, workshops for the production of long-range drones and their storage sites, ammunition depots, a training center for units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 142 areas. Air defense systems, in turn, shot down six guided aerial bombs and 179 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 76,676 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,546 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,585 multiple rocket launchers, 28,426 field artillery and mortars, and 39,561 special vehicles.
