Deforestation of Red Book animals has begun in the Moscow region
In the Moscow region, near the village of Redkino, a continuous deforestation began, in which Red Book animals live. This was reported on August 12 in the Telegram channel "News of the Ruzsky district".
Eyewitnesses said that at least five excavators were brought there for continuous deforestation. The machines cut down about 5 hectares of forest per day. It is specified that a sand quarry is planned to be created at this place.
More than 40 representatives of the Red Book of the region live in this region. It is noted that if the pace of work continues, the forest will be destroyed within 40 days.
On July 14, the ecological defense of the Moscow region reported that in the deforestation zone for the Redkino-2 quarry in the Ruzsky district of the Moscow Region, local residents noticed a pair of gray cranes listed in the Red Book of the region. Earlier, local residents stated that in 2021, more than 20 species of Red Book plants and animals were recorded on the territory of the planned logging.
