- A resident of the Moscow region received 16 years for transferring data about the airfield in Kursk to Kiev.
On August 12, the Second Western District Military Court sentenced Eldar Marchenko, a resident of the Moscow region, to 16 years in prison, who, according to investigators, sent the coordinates of the airfield in Kursk to the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) for its drone attack.
"To find him guilty <...> and impose a sentence of 16 years in prison," RIA Novosti quoted the prosecutor as saying.
It is noted that Marchenko will spend the first five years in prison, the rest of the term in a high—security colony. In addition, 397 thousand rubles were recovered from him at the request of the Ministry of Housing and Communal Services of the Kursk region, 300 thousand rubles — in favor of the injured citizen named Tolstykh, as well as 53.7 thousand rubles — in favor of Kursk Management Company LLC.
On August 11, the prosecution requested that Marchenko be sentenced to 19 years in prison. In this case, it was assumed that the person involved would serve six years in prison, the rest of the term in a high—security colony.
