Two teenagers were detained for setting fire to a diesel locomotive in Orel for a monetary reward. This was announced on August 12 in the press service of the transport department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Central Federal District.

It is specified that on the territory of the railway enterprise, unknown persons threw an incendiary mixture into a diesel locomotive, resulting in a fire. Then the battery compartment of the locomotive was partially damaged, there were no casualties, the Ministry of Internal Affairs Media reported on the website.

During the operational search measures, law enforcement officers identified the suspects. They turned out to be local residents aged 16 and 17, who had not previously been brought to criminal and administrative responsibility and were not registered.

It was established that the young men followed the instructions of an anonymous curator in the messenger. They filmed their illegal actions on a mobile phone camera. They were promised from 90 thousand to 120 thousand rubles for this work, but they never received a monetary reward.

"A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under paragraph "a" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, which has now been transferred for further investigation to the Western Department of Justice of the Investigative Committee of Russia," the publication says.

The defendants were given a preventive measure in the form of detention.

Earlier, on August 11, employees of the Federal Security Service (FSB) office in the Amur Region detained a man who tried to set fire to a relay cabinet on the railway. It was clarified that the attacker contacted representatives of a terrorist organization from Ukraine and agreed to complete the task for money. He could face up to 20 years in prison.
