Musk accused Apple of violating antitrust laws
American entrepreneur and billionaire Elon Musk has accused Apple of violating antitrust laws when managing App Store ratings. On August 12, he wrote about this on the social network X (ex. Twitter).
Musk said that Apple does not give companies in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) the opportunity to move OpenAI from the first place in the AppStore app store rating, and thus violates antitrust laws.
"Apple is acting in such a way that no AI company, except OpenAI, can take the first place in the AppStore, and this is an unequivocal violation of antitrust laws. xAI will immediately go to court," the entrepreneur said.
At the same time, X or Grok apps are not even included in the Must Have section of the App Store, despite the fact that X ranks first among the most popular news apps in the world, and Grok ranks fifth among all apps.
On August 7, Musk announced that a new artificial intelligence model from xAl, Grok—5, would be available by the end of this year. At the moment, Grok-4 is considered a better neural network than GPT-5 for testing AI models by the Tech Dev Notes website.
