Another protest action has begun on the streets of Belgrade — protesters are asking to arrest the President of the republic, Aleksandar Vucic, after unknown persons doused the entrances of three opposition leaders with paint. The corresponding footage is published by Izvestia on August 11.

"In Belgrade, protesters again blocked one of the central streets — King Alexander Street in the Zvezdara district. The fact is that at night (August 10th. Unknown people entered the entrances of three, let's say, leaders of the protest movement, poured red paint there and fixed portraits of those very leaders, which caused outrage," Izvestia correspondent Sergei Petrov reported.

Petrov noted that the protesters approached the police building with a request to arrest Vucic, where they clashed with law enforcement officials.

It is specified that the crowd was fired at with plastic balls (cartridges), and arrests were also made of particularly active protesters who provoked others.

The anti-government protests, which are attended by the Serbian opposition, began after 15 people died in November 2024 as a result of the collapse of the railway station in Novi Sad. The protesters blocked bridges and roads. On July 4, Vucic called on those who took to the streets not to block the city, threatening to use counteraction measures. Later, on August 1, he called an emergency meeting of the Serbian Security Council in connection with the detention of former Construction Minister Tomislav Momirovic, who was involved in the reconstruction of the train station where the collapse occurred.
