Trump said he intends to organize a meeting between Putin and Zelensky.
US President Donald Trump has announced that he will be able to arrange a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky in order to achieve a settlement of the conflict. He stated this on August 11 during his press conference on crime and landscaping in Washington.
"I'll say this: in the end, I'll get them both in the same room. I'll either be there, or I won't be there," he told reporters.
Trump noted that he expects a constructive conversation with Putin, during which he intends to find out the position of the Russian president on the issue of resolving the current situation.
In addition, as the head of the White House stressed, he has "good relations" with Zelensky, with whose actions, however, he "categorically disagrees."
On August 11, Bloomberg learned that Zelensky and a number of European leaders intend to hold a telephone conference on Wednesday, August 13, in which Trump will take part. The publication stressed that within the framework of this conversation, it is planned to discuss further options for "exerting pressure" on Russia.
