- Zakharova condemned Kiev for calling for the exclusion of the Russian language from the European Charter
Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, sharply criticized the decision of Elena Ivanovskaya, the new commissioner for the Protection of the state language in Ukraine, who called for the exclusion of Russian from the list of regional languages protected under the European Charter.
"Elena Ivanovskaya spit on the European Charter from the High Orthodox Church of Ukraine (Orthodox Church of Ukraine. — Ed.) bell towers. Barbarians, they'll say. If I object, it's trash. Polish nobles used to call people of physical labor that way. <...> The Kiev regime is a group of cattle," she wrote on her Telegram channel.
