Since the beginning of the season, more than 5,000 people have applied to hospitals in the Lipetsk region in connection with the suction of ticks. The regional department of Rospotrebnadzor announced this on Monday, August 11.

"As of August 7, 2025, 5,163 people, including 2,374 children (46%), applied to medical organizations in the region for tick suction," the report says.

According to GOROD48, in 69.3% of cases, ticks were attached to territories adjacent to private homes. In natural conditions, cases were much less recorded — 16.8%.

On August 2, Marina Berezhnaya, Candidate of Medical Sciences, general practitioner, head of the Emergency and Emergency Department of the European Medical Center (EMC), said that information has recently emerged about the possibility of transmission through tick bites of one of the varieties of rickettsiosis — tick-borne spotted fever. The specialist spoke about the first signs of such a fever and how to distinguish it from other respiratory infections.
