Production of cars at the Belji plant was increased due to robots
The modernization of production at the Belarusian Belji plant has been completed, the changes primarily affected the welding and body painting workshops, the plant's press service reported on August 11.
Additional posts and equipment for welding and welding pins have been added to the welding shops. The floor welding equipment has been upgraded and an automated laser welding station has been added. The number of manual processes has been reduced, including thanks to two new robots. The paint shop has added robots for applying primer, painting openings, opening and closing doors, trunk lids and hood.
Some of the procedures that were previously performed manually have been switched to fully robotic mode. Two robots are used to apply sealant to the thresholds, four robots have been added to apply an anti-gravity coating, and four more robots perform tasks to seal welds. Due to this, the factor of human error in performing these operations was completely eliminated.
After the modernization, the number of robots at the Belji plant was increased from 10 to 43 units. The measures taken made it possible to increase the production of cars from 15 to 30 units per hour.
Currently, the production of such automotive components of the Belgee X50 crossover has been localized, such as batteries, front fender sound insulation elements, glass, luggage compartment organizer, standard emergency call device, front and rear bumpers, rims and tires.
