A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. The group of troops "Center" liberated the settlement of Lunacharskoye in the DPR. As a result of the actions of the servicemen, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) lost up to 410 militants, five armored combat vehicles, 11 vehicles, five field artillery guns and an electronic warfare station.

"The units of the Vostok group of forces continued to advance into the depth of the enemy's defenses. The manpower and equipment of two mechanized mountain assault brigades, an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, a marine brigade and two air defense brigades were defeated in the areas of the settlements of Zelyony Guy, Alexandrograd of the Donetsk People's Republic, Sosnovka, Velikomikhailovka, Tikhoe, Voronoe of the Dnipropetrovsk region, Olgovskoye and Poltavka of the Zaporizhia region. The Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 255 military personnel, five armored combat vehicles and 11 vehicles," the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The Russian army, with the help of aviation, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), missiles and artillery, defeated the assembly and storage sites of long-range drones, ammunition depots of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, as well as temporary locations of Ukrainian armed forces and foreign mercenaries in 140 districts.

Air defense systems, in turn, shot down seven HIMARS multiple rocket launchers manufactured in the United States and 312 aircraft-type drones.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, since the beginning of the special operation, the Ukrainian Armed Forces have lost 665 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 76,497 UAVs, 625 anti-aircraft missile systems, 24,539 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,585 multiple rocket launchers, 28,387 field artillery and mortars, and 39,500 special vehicles.
