The wife of a policeman shot dead near Arkhangelsk shared her memories of her husband

A policeman shot dead by a suspect in an arson attack on a relay cabinet in the Arkhangelsk region was true to his principles and spent every free minute with his family. His wife Elena told Izvestia about this on August 11.

"A loving father of two children, a devoted husband <...> he had his own clear moral principles. He was a very good friend," the woman shared.

Elena also said that everything happened very quickly, "it seems like we just started talking, and five minutes later he was gone."

On August 10, the press service of the regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee (SU IC) of the Russian Federation reported that a policeman died while detaining an arsonist at a railway station in the Arkhangelsk region. His colleague was injured. According to investigators, three policemen arrived at the place of residence of a 47-year-old resident of Konoshsky district, suspected of setting fire to equipment at the railway station. The man fired at least two shots from a firearm. The suspect was detained, and a criminal case was opened into the incident.
