On August 9, the XIV Interregional Creative Festival of Slavic Art "Russian Field" took place in Victory Park on Poklonnaya Gora. This year it was timed to coincide with the Year of Defender of the Fatherland and dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. The festival brought together thousands of Muscovites and guests of the capital, where they could get acquainted with folk traditions, and where cultural initiatives and creative projects from different regions of Russia were presented.

The festival has long established itself as the largest venue in the country, where folk art and modern culture become a guide between the past and the present. More than 1,500 participants from the regions of Russia and abroad — from creative teams to folk artists — presented their works, programs and initiatives. In total, a record number of applications have been received for participation in the cultural program this year — more than 600.

The Russian Field Festival was opened by the head of the Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations of the City of Moscow, Vitaly Suchkov. The guests of the festival were also greeted from the main stage by Tatiana Vagina, Head of the Department of National Policy of the Office of the President of the Russian Federation for Internal Policy, Daria Borisova, deputy of the Moscow City Duma, director of the Autonomous Educational Institution "Educational and Methodological Center for Military-Patriotic Education of Youth "AVANGARD".

Vitaly Suchkov, Head of the Moscow Department of National Policy and Interregional Relations, read out the greeting of the Mayor of Moscow to the participants of the Russian Field Festival: "This is a great event in the social and cultural life of Moscow, which once again gathers masters and fans of Slavic art from all over the country. Russian Field is our roots and traditions, strength and pride. This year's Festival is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory and is being held on Poklonnaya Gora for the first time. Here, in a place sacred to every Muscovite, you feel the value of creativity in a special way, which unites, inspires and gives strength. Performances by talented, original groups and performers, a fair of folk art, a fashion show of ethnic collections, performances, contests, master classes, and family games create an atmosphere of wonderful celebration, the impressions of which will delight and warm the hearts for a long time. And for artists, it's a great opportunity to meet their fans and get a new creative boost."

Residents of 103 countries watched the online broadcast of the main program, including Russia, Germany, the United States, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, the Netherlands, India, Great Britain, Norway, Poland, Finland, Kazakhstan, Lithuania, Belarus, China, Bahrain, Brazil, Iraq and others. A day earlier, on August 8, the competition day of the festival was held in Moscow in a closed format. His live events followed 100 316: the audience from 27 countries, including Russia, China, India, Iran, Germany, USA, Netherlands, UK, Uzbekistan, Belarus, France, Kazakhstan, Austria and others. In just two days, the broadcasts have garnered 10,182,379 views.

The opening ceremony began at St. George's Cathedral with a prayer service, and the Patriarchal Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior performed from the main stage, symbolizing the inextricable link between Russian culture and Orthodox spiritual values. Slavyanskaya Sloboda, an educational space dedicated to the Christian heritage of Russia and historical memory, is located near the Church of St. George the Victorious. During the day, lectures, meetings, film screenings and discussions were held here, including those dedicated to the 1135th anniversary of the Holy Princess Olga. The topics of the role of the church during the war, Orthodox military service and the spiritual mission of the Cossacks were discussed.

One of the most significant was the Field of Glory site. There were reconstructions of combat episodes of the Great Patriotic War: equipment, headquarters, weapons, medical battalion, speeches by the propaganda brigade and detailed images of soldiers from the 1940s. All activities were accompanied by comments from historical experts.

Special attention was drawn to the gastronomic site "National Cuisine", where a large-scale event dedicated to an important historical date was held. This year, by decree of the President of the Russian Federation, August 9 was officially declared the Day of Military Glory of Russia — in honor of the end of the Leningrad Battle, one of the longest and most heroic operations of the Great Patriotic War, which lasted 1064 days. In memory of the heroic deed of the defenders of the city and its inhabitants, a culinary record was set at the festival — 1,945 kilograms of "Leningrad" pickle were cooked.

Of particular interest was the Poetic Frontier site, where the final of the patriotic poetry contest "About Heroism, about the Motherland, about Glory" was held. Participants from different regions performed in the author's and reader's nominations. The competition was accompanied by creative meetings, concerts and improvised poetic duels. Songs from the war years, memories and declarations of love for the Motherland were performed at the same venue.

The best creative teams of our country performed on the small stage — "Musical Zavalinka". They showed the whole palette of the originality and uniqueness of the regions of Russia, and also presented productions dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory. A special block of the venue's program was the patriotic concert of the Assembly of the Peoples of Russia called "There are Many Peoples – One Homeland", which was attended by Ilona Bronevitskaya, the Black Berets ensemble, Vitaly and Svetlana Atiushev, and the Khaerako Sei ethnic group.

The Fashion Row site aroused no less interest, where collections of ethnographic and modern costume were shown throughout the day. The audience saw how the traditions of folk clothing are transformed into the language of modern design, while remaining recognizable and distinctive.

The highlight of the festival day was the program on the main stage, the Musical Square. Russian Russian creative teams from different regions of Russia performed their most striking performances here, the award ceremony of the Russian Field competition was held — the winners of 7 nominations were announced and a gala concert of the Bolshoi Russian Choir with the participation of Russian pop stars took place. The musical program was attended by: Oleg Gazmanov, Tatiana Kurtukova, Alexandrov Song and Dance Ensemble of the Russian Army, Askar Abdrazakov, Varvara, Nadezhda Krygina, Alexander Dobronravov, Alexey Petrukhin, Denis Klyaver, Aglaya Shilovskaya, Ruslan Ostashko, Sergey Voitenko, Alexandra Vorobyova, Ksenia Dezhneva, 123 Regiment, Patriarchal Choir of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior, Dmitry Koldun, as well as Filatov & Karas, Mia Boyka and St. The main stage was hosted by People's Artist of the Russian Federation Artyom Kaminsky and participant of the show "The Voice" Alla Omelyuta.
