- A new generation of turnstiles was presented at the exhibition "The same Moscow" in the Manege
A new generation of turnstiles, which will appear in the metro this year, was presented at the Manege Moscow exhibition.
"By 2031, more than 4,500 new-generation turnstiles will be installed at the metro, MCC and MCD stations. Thanks to the narrow bollards, they will increase the capacity of the stations by 40%. The speed of operation of each turnstile will increase due to more modern equipment and the use of new Russian microelectronics made in Zelenograd. This will provide a quick and convenient passage for everyone, including passengers with limited mobility and visually impaired. On behalf of Sergei Sobyanin, we will continue to improve the payment infrastructure in the capital's transport," said Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Transport and Industry.
The new turnstiles are equipped with a light indication of the payment status. The color backlight will immediately show whether the transaction was successful. A vibration response has been added for the convenience of visually impaired passengers. A tactile signal will help you understand if the passage is open, without the need for visual inspection. Turnstiles can operate both at the entrance and at the exit, which is especially convenient at stations with high passenger traffic. The validation zone is optimized for digital payment methods. The readers are positioned so that they can instantly recognize the virtual Troika, SBP and other contactless payment methods.
The exhibition "The Same Moscow" is dedicated to achievements in the field of transport, urban planning and industry. It will be held until August 31 in the Central Exhibition Hall.
