The main stage of the embankment improvement has been completed in the Pokrovskoye-Streshnevo district of the capital. This was stated by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

"Now the length of the publicly accessible territory has reached 1.5 km. It is located next to a new residential complex on the site of the former Tushino airfield, 15 minutes from the Spartak metro station," the mayor said.

Recreation areas overlooking the river, as well as children's and sports grounds have been equipped on the embankment. There are forest parks and green areas near the embankment. A network of road and path routes has been created here.

The plans, Sobyanin stressed, include work to strengthen the coast.

Since 2011, more than 90 km of embankments have been put in order in the city. The first large—scale project was the Crimean embankment - it was made completely pedestrian. Then Yakimanskaya, Sofiyskaya, Raushskaya, Kosmodamianskaya, Sadovnicheskaya, Vorobyovskaya embankments were renovated. Pedestrian spaces, recreation and sports areas, and viewing platforms have appeared there.
