Ministry of Education: the new academic year will begin on September 1 and end on May 26

The new academic year in Russia will begin on September 1 and end on May 26, 2025. This is reported by the Ministry of Education of Russia in its Telegram channel.

"The new academic year will begin on September 1 and end on May 26. It is possible to organize training in both quarters and trimesters," the ministry said in a publication.

Summer holidays will last from May 27 to August 31. In autumn, winter and spring, holidays should be at least seven days, as prescribed by the Ministry of Education.

The agency also recommends providing first—graders with additional holidays in February - at least seven days.

The main changes will affect the way of communication and school uniforms.

Earlier, on August 9, the State Duma proposed discussing the abolition of homework for schoolchildren. It is noted that, despite the recognition of the problem, concrete proposals for its solution have not yet been developed.
