Forecaster predicted warming by the end of the week in Moscow
Cloudy weather with periodic rains is expected in Moscow during the week of August 11, heavy precipitation and even thunderstorms are possible in some places in the region. Monday will be the most stormy day this week, Tatiana Pozdnyakova, chief specialist of the Meteonosti news agency, told Izvestia on August 11.
"Monday, as they say, is a difficult day. Therefore, the weather today determines the proximity of the occlusion point. The forecast is cloudy in the afternoon, rain at times, heavy in places in the region, thunderstorms are possible," she said.
The temperature background will remain stable throughout the day: +18...+20 degrees is forecast in the capital, +18...+21 degrees in the Moscow region. In areas where thunderstorms will occur, wind gusts of up to 12-15 meters per second are likely, which is typical for August weather.
Starting from Tuesday, atmospheric pressure will gradually increase. Precipitation will be less intense on the second and third days of the week, with occasional short—term rains. At night, the temperature will drop to +13... +15 degrees, during the day — +19 ...+21 degrees.
Starting from Thursday, Muscovites are expected to gradually warm up. At night, the thermometer will show +10... +16 degrees, during the day — +19 ...+24 degrees. In the capital itself, the temperature will reach +21...+23 degrees, and by the end of the week it will approach +25 degrees.
"That is, summer continues, the weather will reach the climatic norm for the middle of the month," Pozdnyakova said.
On August 1, Pozdnyakova said that residents of the capital should adapt to the new climatic conditions, which are similar to the subtropical climate. According to her, the heat above +30 degrees and heavy rains are now part of the new climate regime.
