As part of the "Summer in Moscow" project, "Good Weekend" is an event dedicated to the World Day of Homeless Animals. More than 100 cats and dogs from city shelters will be waiting for Muscovites. This was announced on Monday, August 11, on the city portal of the capital. mos.ru .

"The main goal of the "Good Weekend" is to help animals. More than 100 cats and dogs under the care of urban non-profit organizations (NPOs) will be waiting for the participants of the event. A charity fair will also be organized, where you can purchase a variety of goods. All proceeds will be used to help the wards of NGOs," said Ekaterina Dragunova, Chairman of the Moscow Public Relations and Youth Policy Committee.

The event will take place on August 16 and 17 in the park along the Olonetsky Passage of the Yauza Park. Anyone can come. The playground with animals will be open from 12:00 to 19:00, about 60 dogs and 40 cats will be brought there from shelters — they are all looking for their new home. You can chat with animals, pet them, and even walk around the park. To take home a new pet, you will need to sign a responsible maintenance agreement. To conclude it, you will only need a passport and the consent of all family members.

In addition to interacting with animals, guests will be able to attend a charity fair and various workshops.

Since the beginning of the year, these expenses have increased by 34% compared to the same period in 2024. The number of transactions increased by 28%, and the average receipt increased by 5%, to 731 rubles. Russians' expenses in veterinary clinics also increased by 7%.
