Guards Corporal Korzhak defended a river crossing from UAVs in his area

During the performance of tasks related to the equipment and maintenance of the river crossing, Guard Corporal Alexander Korzhak defended his position from an enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). The Russian Defense Ministry reported on the exploits of servicemen of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the area of a special military operation on Monday, August 11.

A fighter was acting as part of an engineering group. During the work, he heard the sound of the engines of an approaching Ukrainian drone. To prevent the drone from detecting the place where the crossing was being prepared, Korzhak ran out to meet it and destroyed the aerial target with small arms. Thus, the Guard corporal disrupted the plans of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) for reconnaissance of the area.

Thanks to the decisive actions of the serviceman, the work on the preparation of the crossing was successfully completed. This contributed to the further advance of the Russian army in the area of its military.

The Ministry of Defense also said that Junior Sergeant Nikolai Chukalkin killed two members of the sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG). APU machine gun fire. After that, the soldier corrected the fire of the mortar battery of the Russian Armed Forces on the enemy, which led to the complete destruction of the saboteurs.

As a result of the successful identification of the DRG, the stability of the defense in this sector of the front was maintained.

Earlier, on August 10, Private Vasily Leushin organized an observation post in the area of one of the settlements of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and promptly detected an attempt by the enemy to break through in his area of responsibility. After that, Leushin began the task of correcting the artillery fire of the Russian Armed Forces, which made it possible to effectively strike at concentrations of Ukrainian units.

On August 9, Guard Junior Sergeant Alexei Bakhmutsky, as part of a self-propelled artillery gun crew, destroyed an AFU stronghold along with infantry. After the strikes were completed, the military moved the equipment to a reserve area. Thanks to the actions of the calculation, the Russian army was able to weaken the enemy's defenses and ensure the advance of troops.
