As a result of the earthquake in the Turkish province of Balikesir, according to preliminary data, one building collapsed, 24 more were injured. This was announced on August 10 by the Office for the Elimination of Consequences of Natural Disasters (AFAD).

"At the moment, 24 damage reports have been received in 112 emergency call centers, and verification work is ongoing. One building collapsed in the Syrdyrga area," the department wrote on the social network X.

It is noted that 319 people and 79 units of special equipment are working at the site.

According to AFAD, 20 aftershocks of up to 5 magnitude occurred after the earthquake in western Turkey.
