Ryabkov pointed to Russia's "solid arsenal" of medium- and short-range missiles.
Russia has a "solid arsenal" of intermediate-range and short-range missiles (INF), as it continued to conduct scientific research in this area during the moratorium period. This was stated on August 10 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov on the Rossiya 1 TV channel.
The diplomat noted that when concluding the agreement, the Russian Federation spoke only about the refusal to deploy the relevant weapons. At the same time, the suspension of research and development work (R&D) was not considered, therefore, the necessary developments were carried out during the period of the moratorium.
"That is, this time was used to create appropriate systems and have a fairly solid arsenal in this area, as I understand it, we have it," Ryabkov said.
Earlier in the day, he reported that Russia has not only the Oreshnik missile system, but also other advanced weapons. According to him, Russia is ready to deploy missiles in various parts of the world. He clarified that the issue of the geographical location of new weapons remains open and is being discussed at the highest level.
